Temporary Part-Time ISSI Nutrition Worker @ Stoughton Central School (OOS)

SECPSD is looking for a temporary part-time Invitational Shared Services Nutrition Worker focused on delivering a healthy breakfast for all students who participate in the breakfast program at Stoughton Central School and lunch program for the Ocean Man Students who attend Stoughton Central School.

Job Summary

The Nutrition Worker is responsible for preparing, assembling, and serving nutritious meals that meet school and Canada’s Food Guide standards. This role involves meal preparation for students, strict adherence to food safety protocols, and positive interaction with students to promote healthy eating habits.

End Date:  June 26, 2026

Hours of Work: 

Equivalent to 4 hours per day, 20 hours per week

Core Responsibilities:

• Meal Production:  Prepare a variety of hot and cold breakfast and lunch options, including washing, peeling, and chopping produce; assembling sandwiches and salads; and cooking simple menu items.
• Nutritional Compliance:  Ensure all meals adhere to mandated nutritional guidelines and accommodate students' documented allergies or dietary restrictions.

• Safety & Sanitation:  Maintain a sterile kitchen environment by sanitizing workstations, equipment, and utensils according to FOODSAFE standards.
• Inventory & Documentation:  Assist with ordering supplies, receiving deliveries, and maintaining daily meal counts.

Skills & Qualifications

• Certifications:  Valid Food Safe Level 1 (or equivalent) and a cleared Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) are mandatory.

• Physical Capability:  Ability to stand for entire shifts and lift heavy items (not more than 50 lbs ).
• Communication:  Good verbal skills to coordinate with kitchen and clearly communicate menu options to students and staff. Meet with ISSI Liaison and the Principal on a monthly basis.

Salary & Benefits:

The starting wage for this position is $21.35 per hour.
